Artist Gareth Edwards

Gareth was raised in the London area but twenty years ago relocated to West Cornwall with his family and now works from a studio on the Porthmeor Beach adjacent to the St. Ives Tate gallery.  The studios were once occupied by Ben NIcholson , Patrick Heron and Francis Bacon and have been recently restored with their heritage intact.


Gareth gained a degree in Art History from the London Institute and for many years paired his studio practice with lecturing in Art History at various universities and Art Colleges around the country, including The Chelsea College of Art , Falmouth University and John Moores Liverpool university.


He was represented for many years by the Hart Gallery in London but now shows with the Jill George Gallery in London with whom he shows regularly in the UK and abroad , most notably in Toronto , Canada. He has recently been partnered by the Gallery Eumundi in Australia and will be showing in Hong Kong and Melbourne with them.


He was elected a Royal Academician (west) in 2004 and is a prominent member by election of the renowned Newlyn Society of Artists. He works full time as a painter enjoying an international reputation as a contemporary Abstract Landscape artist.
